RE: Special Use Permits and Rezoning Submittals
Dear Mr. Fritz:
Below are VDOT's comments for the October, 2009 Rezoning and Special Use Permit applications:
SP- 2009 -00024 Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary (Judy Wieland)
1. Sight distance has been checked and is adequate at the existing driveway location.
2. A permit will be needed for maintenance of the driveway with the VDOT ROW on Route 637.
The minimum standards of the entrance should be similar to an agricultural entrance. The details
can be determined at the time a Land Use Permit is issued by VDOT.
SP- 2009 -00025 Dover Foxcroft — Church Related Activities (Scott Clark)
SP- 2009 -00026 Dover Foxcroft — Special Events (Scott Clark)
1. Trip generation will need to be provided to determine if a Chapter 527 study will be necessary for
this development. Even if a study is not warranted, the traffic numbers will need to be used to
determine any turn lane needs.
2. The existing and proposed entrances will need to be evaluated for adequate sight distance.
