HomeMy WebLinkAboutARB200900075 Review Comments Miscellaneous Submittal 2009-10-21�F ALBz , �'IRGINI�' COUNTY OF ALBEMARLE Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, Virginia 22902 -4596 Phone (434) 296 -5832 October 20, 2009 Tim Donckers Kodi Pratt P132 Architects 710 West Roselawn Drive Rogers, AR 72756 RE: ARB- 2009 -75: Walmart Parapet (Tax Map 45, Parcel 68D5) Dear Mr. Donckers: Fax (434) 972 -4012 I have reviewed your revised submittal for the above - referenced project which consisted of the following: • Masonry Detail, dated 10/14/09 • Elevation Drawings, dated 8/28/09 • Rooftop Equipment Screening Details, dated 8/28/09 The drawings in this latest submission address all outstanding conditions of ARB approval, and include the following changes to the north elevation: • An increase in the height of the parapet wall to 128' to completely screen all rooftop mechanical equipment • Replacement of the existing brick down to the masonry "slate stone" soldier course on the north end of the east elevation (new brick and mortar to match existing brick and mortar) • Replacement of the approximately 180 square feet of existing brick just north of the "Home & Living" entrance (new brick and mortar to match existing brick and mortar) • Replacement of the "slate stone" masonry band with a new "slate stone" masonry band to match the existing You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and exhibited for review, will be used. This application is approved with the condition that mechanical equipment shall not be visible from the Entrance Corridor. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the site plan, attachments, materials, samples, and other submittal items presented. Any change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to the plan and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS APPROVAL IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1. Mechanical equipment shall not be visible from the Entrance Corridor. 2. All new brick and mortar shall match the color, texture, and detail of the existing brick and mortar. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
