Current Development Engineering has the following comments: Site Plan Comments The new travelway from Route 22 to the parking lot must be surfaced [18- 4.12.15.a], please use the VDOT Pavement Design Guide for Subdivisions to determine surface requirement. A waiver request must be submitted and approved in order to allow the use of untreated aggregate. [DM Policy] 2. Please add curb to the new travelway from Route 22 to the parking lot. A waiver request must be submitted and approved if curb is not to be used. [18- 4.12.15.g] 3. Guardrail is shown on the travelway detail and mentioned on the VDOT entrance permit application, however, it is not found on the plan. Please clarify. 4. The new entrance appears to drop away from Route 22 at greater than a 10% slope. An adequate landing or grade transition should be provided. As a guideline, the approach grade should not exceed 4% for a distance of not less than 40 -feet from the edge of Route 22. [18- 4.12.17.b] 5. VDOT approval is required prior to site plan amendment approval. 6. Are the 1 -foot curb openings labeled on the plan new or existing? Is the rip rap new or existing? If existing curb is to become a "level spreader ", please provide spot elevations on the curb showing that it meets the requirements of a level spreader and is constructed at a zero grade. [VESCH 3.21] 7. It is unclear which existing bio- retention basin is being enlarged to accommodate addition of impervious area. Please provide a full detail (including volumes, embankments, outlet elevations) of the bio- retention basin. It is also unclear how extra run -off is being newly directed to the existing bio - filter. Please submit a Water Protection Ordinance application for Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management along with required fees. A full review of stormwater management BMP's will be performed once this application and required details are submitted. WPO approval is required prior to site plan amendment approval. \\ Cob- dts01 \cityviewlnk\Docs \2008 \SDP \SDP200800170 American Legion - Major \CDE1_fsp_ADP_08 -00170 Major.doc
