RE: SP2009 -030 Greenbrier Emergency Animal Hospital — Special Use Permit
Dear Mr. Kabbash:
Thank you for your recent submittal received on November 16, 2009 for the above noted project
for Tax Map 61W, Section 1, Block A Parcel 5.
The following comments are provided to help you meet requirements regarding your special use
permit to extend your veterinary services clinic hours and expand the space in the existing
building on the site, and address any staff concerns:
Zoning:
• Please clarify /explain whether there is an area for outside exercise of animals to be exclusive
from access by the public by fencing or other means? (Section 5.1.11)
• A parking study is requested to further determine if parking needs will be met since the
business will be open additional day hours and the business is expanding into 2625 sq. ft. of
additional space. (Chapt. 18, Section 4.12.7c)
Planning:
• Please clarify how long animals will stay on the site.
Engineering:
• Please clarify how noise and waste management will be handled. Based on the information submitted,
it is difficult to determine if these are items of concern on this application.
• If a site plan is required for physical improvements to the site, Zoning Ordinance and Water Protection
Ordinance requirements will need to be met.
Fire Rescue:
• Verify adequate fire flow is available. This must comply with the Virginia Statewide Fire
Prevention Code.
