Subject: Engineering Approval of Briarwood Phases 1 A, 1 B, 4, and 8 (WPO-2006-00066 and
SDP - 2006 - 00041)
Good evening,
Engineering has reviewed the latest copies of the Briarwood Road, Site, ESC, and Stormwater plans (WPO- 2006 -00066
and SDP- 2006 - 00041), received 13 January 2010. Since the last comment letter, dated 30 October 2009, the applicant
has been communicating with me through unofficial submittals and reviews to address the remaining comments. The
latest plan submittal meets all of the agreements discussed over the last three months. Engineering review hereby
approves the Road, ESC, and SWM plans for Briarwood Phase 1A, 113, 4, and 8 (WPO- 2006 -00066 and SDP- 2006 - 00041).
At this time, Engineering review will issue a "No Objection" to the approval of the site plan (SDP- 2006 - 00041). However,
when copies of the plans are submitted to the county for signature and issuance to inspectors, please make the
following corrections:
- Change the site plan number on all sets to SDP - 2006 -00041
- Enter the date of the approved Collins Engineering Road Improvements Plan in the notes on sheet 4 of 18 in
Road Plan Set
- Sheet 12A in the ESC section should be replaced with Sheet 12 A in the SWM section
- On the Aquatic Bench detail, please note that it applies to Ponds 1, 2, 3, and 4
- Remove bubbling from all sets
The WPO bonds have been updated. The ESC bond estimate is $391,500. The SWM bond estimate is $172,800. To
post the WPO bonds, please contact Ana Kilmer (akilmer @albemarle.org or 296 -5832 x3246). (A road bond will not be
calculated until the applicant has submitted a completed Schedule of Completion and Road Bond Estimate Request
Form. A road bond will not be needed until a subdivision plat is submitted for this project.)
Before a grading permit is granted, the applicant must provide the County with 4 copies of the ESC plan, 3 copies of the
SWM plan, and 3 copies of the Road plan (the road plan should include sheets 13 -28 of the site plan set as well). The
County currently has one set of the each of these plans if you want to slip corrected sheets into the existing sets.
