The Water protection plan for Commonwealth Townhouses Major amendment updated
submittal 2 February 2010 has received Engineering review. The following items will be
adequately addressed prior to final approval:
1. Plan does not show adequate perimeter erosion and sediment controls. Previously
approved plan also did not have adequate perimeter controls. However, due to
lack of adequate space, had a sequence of construction to minimize soil loss
during the grading phase of construction. Please show perimeter controls per
VESCH. If E &SC protection cannot be designed per Virginia State standards
then a detailed sequence of construction will be proposed.
2. The access road does not appear to meet the previous agreement with the
Stormwater Manager. Please contact Greg Harper to clarify this discrepancy.
3. Proposed access easement does not connect to a public road. An easement will be
required to public road prior to approval.
4. New critical slope disturbance will require a critical slope waiver request.
5. This office recommends moving the construction entrance off the critical slopes
for constructability.
6. Diversions on slopes 4:1 and steeper will have grade lines shown to prove
constructability.
7. Please submit a copy of the Filterra design approval letter.
8. Please add dust control symbol.
9. Please show soil boundaries as described in the narrative.
10. Please show outlet protections.
Due to the level of requested changes, additional comments and or conditions will be forthcoming.
Once these comments have been addressed, please submit 3 copies of the revised plans, calculations, and
narratives to Current Development Engineering. Current Development Engineering is available from 2:30-
