That day I mentioned that the sign drawing would need to be revised to include the note below in red concerning the allowed maximum level of LED illumination. You indicated that you had decided to use fluorescent lighting instead. As I mentioned, you would need to email me the revised sign drawing removing the reference to using LED and indicating that fluorescent was to be used. Once I receive the revised sign drawing, I will be in a position to issue the Certificate of Appropriateness approval letter for your proposal and sign off, for the ARB, on your sign permit application. Whereas the proposal appears to meet all ARB sign guidelines, I need to bring one additional requirement to your attention. Your proposal includes internal illumination with LED lighting. One of the requirements for approval of LED lighting includes verification of the following regarding the level of illumination produced: "The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon."
