John,
The following issues below would need to be addressed before I could grant administrative approval of this sign
proposal.
Concerning the freestanding sign:
Revise the sign drawing to include the following information:
• The proposed sign materials (vinyl ?).
• The dimensions for all sign text and the red and white stripe logo (width & height).
• The proposed color of the outside edge of the sign cabinet. Saphire Blue (PMS 281C) to match the sign background
would be appropriate.
Sign pole color:
Comments: The existing color of the canopy column appears to be a darker grey than the Battleship Grey color proposed
for the sign pole, and the drawings do not indicate that the canopy column color is being changed. Revising the sign pole
color to match the existing darker grey canopy column color would be appropriate.
Recommendations: Revise the sign drawing to indicate that the sign pole will be the same dark gray color as the existing
canopy column; include the PMS color number on the drawing
Sign pole height:
Comments: The sign drawing indicates that the total sign height (pole + cabinet) is 14' while the sign permit states the
sign is 10' tall. After visiting the site, it was apparent that the total sign was not as tall as 14'.
Recommendations: Revise the sign drawing to include the correct heights for the pole and cabinet.
Concerning the canopy sign:
Comments: The sign drawing does not include the dimensions (height & width) for the canopy text
Recommendation: Revise the sign drawing to include the dimensions (height & width) for the canopy text.
I will call you tomorrow so we can discuss this and make sure that my comments are clear. I will be out in the field in the
morning so it may be right after lunch.
