Woltz, CLA Owner or rep.: Saint Anne's Belfield Private School Plan received date: 30 June 2010 Date of comments: 13 August 2010 Reviewer: Phil Custer The first submittal of the minor site plan amendment to modify the planting plan for Saint Anne's Belfield Private School, received on 30 June 2010, has been reviewed. The following comments must be addressed before engineering review can recommend approval to the plan: 1. Please remove the playing field east of the central athletic field from the site plan. Instead, show what is to remain in the area after the demolition of the existing buildings and parking lots. This field was removed from the plans by SDP - 2010 -00047 which was recently approved. Please make sure the graphics are coordinated with the other site plan amendments prepared by Kurt Gloeckner. 2. On the last approved minor amendment for practice artificial turf field area, SDP - 2009 - 00037, there was no sidewalk south of the loading area to the cafeteria on the east side of the school travelway. Therefore, this minor amendment will need to show all of these new sidewalk improvements and all other changes in the area that have been made to the construction documents. Please list all of these modifications on the cover sheet and make sure each change is framed in at least one of the sheets of this set. In addition, the sidewalk appears to be placed along Faulconer Road with a curb. Is this what is being currently proposed? If so, VDOT approval will be necessary and hydraulic calculations will be needed on the next submittal. To help with the review of this plan, please show the VDOT ROW line on all sheets. Please also show where the eastern crosswalk from the practice field path crossing Faulconer Road and account for this foot traffic accordingly in the sidewalk network. Please also provide a detail of the sidewalk. If the sidewalk is within the VDOT ROW, then it must meet VDOT standards or the school will need to sign a maintenance agreement with VDOT. 3. The tree placed on top of the storm sewer pipe in front of the entrance wall should be removed. 4. Show the sight distance line from the entrance looking east to Faulconer Drive to make sure the placement of the 8ft wall is not compromising the safe sight distance established at this entrance. The sight distance line should be drawn per VDOT standards. 5. Faulconer Drive is shown with proposed grades that differ from the surveyed contours shown on all of the other minor amendments submitted to this office. Please clarify. If no changes to the roadway are being proposed with this plan, the existing survey of the road should be used. 6. Several shrubs have been proposed on top of a few drainage structures. 7. A water line appears to be relocated with this plan. Is this line public or private? The new line does not tie into an existing line on the plan. Please clarify. If this line is public, the minor amendment cannot be approved until the service authority grants approval of the realignment. The locations of the parking lot lights appear to be different in the photometric plan and the landscape plan. Please clarify.
