Subject: RE: Engineering review and tentative approval of ESC plan for Ashcroft West
(WPO-2007-00082)
Good afternoon,
Engineering review has received the amendment to the approved Ashcroft West Construction plan (WPO- 2007 -00082
and SUB- 2006 - 00075), received on 23 June 2010. The additional plan sheets restrict the construction limits of both road
and WPO plans to approximately Sta. 24 +60 of Summit Ridge Trail. The plan meets all Albemarle County technical
requirements and has received tentative approval on the conditions that the stormwater facility maintenance
agreement (instructions) is recorded for TMP 78A -1 and all necessary offsite easements are obtained. A grading permit
will not be issued until both of these remaining administrative items are completed.
The WPO bonds have been updated. The new ESC Bond is $37,000. The new SWM Bond is $2,300. You may contact
Ana Kilmer at ext. 3246 for further information on bonding procedures and Maintenance Agreements. (In order to
receive an updated road bond, the following forms must be completed and submitted to Ana Kilmer: Road Bond
Request and Schedule of Completion. A road bond is not needed until a final subdivision plat is submitted for county
signature.)
Additional copies of the road plan may be required. I will contact you next week if that is the case.
Once the WPO bonds have been posted and all approval conditions met, you may contact the Department of
Community Development to arrange a pre- construction meeting with a County Erosion & Sediment Control
Inspector. Should the County Inspector find the limits of disturbance increased or the need for additional control
measures required to protect the site, additional fees will be required.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Phil

Subject: Engineering review and tentative approval of ESC plan for Ashcroft West (WPO- 2007 - 00082)
Good morning,
Engineering review has received the latest submittal of the Ashcroft West Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (WPO-
2007- 00082), submitted 2 December 2009. The ESC plan meets all Albemarle County technical requirements and has
received tentative approval on the conditions that the stormwater facility maintenance agreement (instructions) is
recorded for TMP 78A -1 and all necessary offsite easements are obtained. (The SWM and road plans had previously
been reviewed and technically approved in 2008 subject to offsite easements.)
The WPO bonds have been recalculated based upon the changes to the plan and state code. The updated ESC bond is
$113,100. The updated SWM bond is $86,400. You may contact Ana Kilmer at ext. 3246 for further information on
bonding procedures and Maintenance Agreements. (In order to receive an updated road bond, the following forms
must be completed and submitted to Ana Kilmer: Road Bond Request and Schedule of Completion. A road bond is not
needed until a final subdivision plat is submitted for county signature.)
As agreed upon, the County will hold a small bond ($3,000) on the outlet of each facility (1, 2, and 3) for a period of two
years to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed level spreaders. At the end of the term, if failure at the outlets are
found and erosion has occurred or likely to occur in the opinion of county personnel, the owner will be required to
modify the outlets to the satisfaction of the county.
Thanks,
Phil
