Engineering has reviewed the ESC & SWM plan associated with the Crozet Library received 6 October
2010. The review of the site plan will be provided in a separate comment letter. The ESC & SWM plan
can be approved after the following comments are addressed:
1. Please provide County Erosion and Sediment Control Notes
2. Please provide sediment trap design computation summary.
3. There seems to be a 40" Oak tree that appears to be missing on the Initial E &S plan. Please revise.
4. Please include the demolition to the construction sequence.
5. Engineering recommends:
a. Removing Phase H from the site plan and show Phase I of the site plan with the proposed
biofilter.
b. Reshaping the sediment trap on the E &S — Phase I sheet so it can be converted to a
biofilter once the site has been stabilized. (Engineering allows over sizing the sediment
trap with a weir to allow runoff to sheet flow from the sediment trap down to the west.)
c. Remove the silt fence on the north and south side of the site and replace them with
diversion dikes directing the runoff to the trap.
d. Keep the silt fence on the west side of the site so it may capture the remaining sediment
from the proposed grading and sheet flow from the sediment trap.
6. Please include all proposed grading within the limits of disturbance for all phases.
7. A Letter of Intent is needed from the owner of TMP:56A2- 01 -15, TMP:56A2- 01 -14, and
TMP:56A2- 01 -12. Grading easements must be recorded prior to final site plan approval.
8. Please provide dust control (DC) in all E &S phases.
9. Tree protection must be provided to all trees that are being saved.
10. Please provide inlet protection JP) to all inlets.
11. Please provide outlet protection (OP) to all outlets.
12. Please provide routing calculations for the biofilter.
13. Once all comments have been addressed, the plans will have engineering approval. However, the
grading permit will not be issued until the road and receiving pipes under Main Street have been
constructed and approved by the inspector.
