[ Joel .DeNunzio @VDOT.virginia.gov] Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2011 2:54 PM To: Philip Custer Cc: Frank Pohl Subject: FW: Wickham Phase II WPO- 2007 -00017 Phil, I have reviewed the referenced plan and have the following comments: 1. The proposed Filterra units will need to have a maintenance agreement between Albemarle County and VDOT to permit the units within the right of way. A sample agreement can be found at the VDOT website under the SSAR Regulations. 2. Pavement striping along the outside edge of Route 240 for the right turn lane needs to be added to the plan on both sides of the proposed entrance. A Land Use Permit issued by VDOT needs to be acquired prior to any construction within the Route 240 right of way Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks Joel From: Denunzio, Joel D., P.E. A permit will be required for work within the VDOT ROW and can be obtained from my office. Thanks, Joel Joel DeNunzio, P.E. Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 9:08 AM To: 'Allan Schuck' Subject: Wickham Phase II WPO- 2007 -00017 Wickham Phase II WPO- 2007 -00017 Allan, I reviewed the latest Wickham II plan and have a couple small items: • In the June 15th reply, #9 says that Wickham Place station 10 +00 to 15 +00 and 22 +00 to the end are 25 mph. The plans look like 22 +00 to the end is 20 mph and I think that 20 mph for this section is correct. Please verify these speeds for me. • The right turn lane east of the proposed entrance has the curb and gutter coming out to route 240 and making a 9 foot turn lane. Both the thru lane and the turn lane need to be 11 feet. It actually looks like we need a small amount of pavement widening here for the lanes to be correct. No changes are necessary for the first comment other than verifying the design speeds. The second comment only applies to sheets 4, 6, 8, and 13. 1 don't need an entire new set of plans. These sheets can be revised and sent to me and I will insert them into the plan set. Thanks, Joel Joel DeNunzio, P.E. Staff Engineer 434 - 293 -0011 Ext. 120 joel. den unzio @Virginia DOT. orq
