Dear Ms. Higgins:
I have reviewed your request for an exception to the spacing requirements set forth in the Access
Management Regulations for Minor Arterials, 24 VAC 30 -73. VDOT staff has recommended
the approval of this request because of the applicant's willingness to provide access to adjacent
parcels although at this time the consolidation of entrances cannot be accomplished. VDOT will
grant this exception upon the applicant's agreement to provide easements to the adjacent parcels
for future development that will ultimately provide connectivity between parcels. This exception
is contingent upon the approval of the site plan by Albemarle County and verification that the
approved site plan is in general accordance with the access plan that you submitted with this
request.
