Dear Ms. Ray,
Thank you for the opportunity to review materials for SDP201100042, Forest Lakes Office
Expansion & Townhomes - Preliminary. JAUNT has the following advisory comments.
1. This area is currently in a rural fare zone for JAUNT where we provide trips for both the
general public and, at half fare, for seniors and people with disabilities. JAUNT serves
this particular site regularly due to its current use as a dialysis center.
2. The existing parking lot layout works well for JAUNT vehicles, and we should be able to
provide service to the new office building with no problem. The townhouses, however,
are on dead-end streets with no turnarounds, so JAUNT vehicles will not be able to
provide door-to-door service there. (A loop road layout would be preferable.) Any
passengers would need to meet JAUNT in the office parking lot or possibly on Worth
Crossing, so accessible pedestrian routes should be provided to these areas (see below).
3. Pedestrian connectivity suggestions:
a. Units 27-34 have a sidewalk in front of them that does not connect to any other
sidewalk. Consider connecting the end near Unit 27 to the office parking lot
sidewalks with an accessible route, and possibly also from Unit 34 to the existing
asphalt trail. Similarly, how would any "tots" in Units 1-26 get to the Tot Lot?
Must they be driven there?
b. Ensure that each new ADA ramp includes the ADA -required level landing at the
top. The types of ramps shown on the plan would not have sufficient landings.
c. Consider adding sidewalk along Timberwood Boulevard and Worth Crossing
where possible.
Please contact me with any questions.
