Previous comments submitted on January 13th, 2011 from VDOT have not been addressed. I am attaching those comments for your use. 2. Right of way widths need to include all elements of the road typical sections. The right of way needs to include the sidewalk on the collector and the minimum buffer strips from the back of the curb. Buffer strips need to be a minimum of 4 feet in accordance with the VDOT Road Design Manual, Appendix A -117 and may need to be wider to accommodate street signs as shown in the diagram in that section of the manual. 3. Clear zones on the collector road need to be in accordance with The VDOT Road Design Manual Appendix A -20 based on the speed and projected traffic. 4. Entrances for private roads need to meet the requirements for entrances in the VDOT Road design Manual. The entrances for Granger Lane do not meet the minimum requirements. 5. The intersection of Granger Place and Granger Way was changed since the last plan and made into an unnecessary intersection instead of a properly designed horizontal curve. The traffic does not warrant this treatment and needs to be changed back to the adequately designed curve. 6. The proposed right of way where the existing Sunset ties into the proposed Sunset needs to meet the VDOT minimum design requirements for elements within the typical section. 7. Show horizontal alignment data. 8. The connection to Sunset Extended at Stribling appears to be below minimum standards for a street connection for vertical requirements.
