As we discussed: • The existing sign in the pediment of the north elevation, facing Louisa Road, was installed without a permit. The current application would need to be revised to show that sign replaced with a sign in a smaller size (diameter) so as to be proportionate with the pediment. You indicated a preference just to remove, without replacing, that existing sign. o Please revise the sign drawing in this application to include a note stating: "The existing circular panel sign in the pediment above the entrance, on the north elevation, is to be removed. " • You indicated the proposed sign is to be located where there is an existing sign, installed without a permit, above the entrance on the south elevation facing Route 250E. o Please revise the sign drawing to include a note stating: "The proposed sign is to replace the existing circular panel wall sign, above the entrance door, on the south elevation facing Route 250E. " • Entrance Corridor Guidelines encourage the use of an opaque (zero light transmission) background for a cabinet wall sign. As discussed the white, circular perimeter of this sign is considered the background that should be opaque according to the guideline. This will make the American Legion logo, to be internally illuminated, more readable. o Please revise the sign drawing to include a note stating: "The white, circular perimeter surrounding the logo is to be opaque (zero light transmission) when viewed at night. " • Sign approval letters call out the various colors of the sign. o Please revise the drawing to include the Pantone color numbers, to the best of your ability, for the American Legion logo. • The current proposal is for internal, white LED lighting. o Please revise the drawing to include the following note regarding lighting intensity: "The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon. As I mentioned, this building does not have approved sign design criteria; therefore, the $120.00 review fee will apply. You indicated that you would submit the fee as required. Emailing the revised drawing is always preferred. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions. Brent Brent W. When we bought the building i was told that it had a established Sign Criteria. At this rate the permits will cost more than the sign. Let me know. If the building the sign is to be located on has established Comprehensive Sign Criteria and the sign proposal meets those criteria, the fee is waived. If the building does not have established Comprehensive Sign Criteria, such as the building in your proposal, or the application does not meet the criteria if they were established, there is a $120.00 ARB review fee. Hope this helps. What is this for? This has nothing to do with Architecture design of the building. Let me know. Please submit a check for that fee and make sure the person accepting the check credits it to "ARB 2011 -105, American Legion Sign ".
