-1 can confirm that this is a preschool, not a daycare facility. The preschool will serve 2 to 5 year old children with 6 full
time employees and operate within the hours listed below. Other employees would be added as required by
enrollment. The school will primarily use four classrooms on the first level, but make use of other rooms and the
playground from time to time. We are working through the licensing process now and will not be preparing food on
site. All food provided will be of a prepackaged nature.
-The pathway referenced below has been installed.
-There was a subsequent increase in the amount of students permitted at a school for this site. See attached. My
understanding is that this amendment should govern.

Mr. Craytor-
I am reviewing the zoning clearance application for the ACAC preschool at Four Seasons Dr. Would you please provide a
description of the preschool and number of employees. I am requested the description to confirm you are proposing a
private school /preschool rather than a daycare. Also, please include information regarding any food preparation that
will be done at the preschool. Health department approval is required and how you are licensed by the Department of
Social Services.
As a private school the site is subject to a special use permit, which limits enrollment to 85 students. Please see the
conditions below. The special use permit does not allow a school with 125 students without going through the special
use permit amendment process.

RE: SP 2006 -00042 Charlottesville Day School Amendment (Sign # 76)
Tax Map 061 X2 Parcels 4D AND 4B, and Tax Map 061 X I Parcel 4A
Dear Mr, Craytor:
On March 14, 2007; the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors took action on SP -2006- 00042,
Charlottesville Day School Amendment, to increase the number of students at existing school from 85 to
250 on Tax Map 61X2, Parcels 413 and 4D, and Tax Map 61X1 Parcel 4A in the Rio Magisterial District.
This special use permit was approved based on the following conditions:
1. Maximum enrollment will be two hundred fifty '(250) students; and
Normal hours of operation for school shall be from 7 :30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with occasional uses in
the evenings and weekends, not to exceed twenty (20) per year.
Please be advised that although the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors took action on the
project noted above, no uses on the property as approved above may lawfully begin until all
applicable approvals have been received and conditions have been met. This includes:
• compliance with conditions of the SPECIAL USE PERMIT; and
• approval of a ZONING COMPLIANCE CLEARANCE.
In the event that the use, structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued is not commenced
within twenty -four (24) months from the date of Board approval, it shall be deemed abandoned and the
permit terminated. The term "commenced" means "construction of any structure necessary to the use of
the permit."
