Morrison, ACSA 31 October 2011 10 November 2011 Max Greene [WP020 1 1 000271 [hcampbell @ dewberry.com] [amorrison @ serviceauthority.org] The Water Protection Plans (WP0201100027) submitted 31 October 2011 have received Engineering Review and do not appear to meet Albemarle County minimum checklist items for approval. Please adequately address the following comments for final approval: The following comments are to clarify the previous comments for approval. 1. Please provide the General Construction Notes for Erosion and Sediment Control. Please refer the Design Standards Manual. This comment appears adequately addressed with this submittal. 2. Please provide a utility stream cross symbol (USC) on the E &S plan. This comment appears adequately addressed with this submittal. 3. Please provide Dust Control (DC). This comment appears adequately addressed with this submittal. 4. Please provide a construction entrance (CE) on the plans. A symbol on the E &S plan will suffice. Please show the Albemarle County Temporary paved construction entrance detail on the plan sheet. The WPO inspector will work with the contractor to ensure no mud tracks onto the paved state road. State roads cannot be utilized as a temporary paved construction entrance without prior written approval from VDOT. 5. Please provide a staging and parking area. If not, please specify that all construction equipments and vehicles will not be on site over night. This comment appears adequately addressed with this submittal. However, the staging area is very far from the work that is not under existing pavement. 6. Silt fence cannot be perpendicular to the contours. Please show how the area will be protected in accordance with VESCH. This office recommends Std. & Spec. 3.20 silt fence check dams and/or a sediment trapping device located at the bottom of the slope. 7. In addition to the previous comments, the temporary construction easement between Liberty Hill subdivision and Buckingham Circle Subdivision doesn't appear adequate for the contractor to navigate due to the size and amount of existing trees. In addition, there appears to be a 10 gap between the existing easement for the 4" line and the new temporary grading easement for the 8" line. Please make sure the contractor will not trespass onto unapproved areas. Additional temporary construction easements are recommended. No review fee was received for this review. Please submit 2 review fees with next submittal. Once these comments have been addressed, please submit two (2) copies of the revised plans, calculations, and narratives to Albemarle County Engineering along with the required review fee and transmittal form.
