Dear Mr. Mukubwa:
The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board, at its meeting on January 3, 2012, reviewed the above -
noted request and took the following action.
Regarding the Comprehensive Sign Review:
By a vote of 5:0 the Board approved a Certificate of Appropriateness to establish comprehensive criteria for
signs on Luxor Buildings 4 & 5. The Board unanimously approved the application as submitted. You may
consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness.

Note:

This form outlines the specific design criteria established for signs at this location.
All standard ARB Sign Guidelines also apply.
Regarding the AT &T Sign:
By a vote of 5:0 the Board approved the request, pending staff administrative approval of the following
conditions:
1. Revise the sign drawing to indicate the faces and returns of the reverse channel letters are to be
opaque.
2. Revise the sign drawing to include the following note regarding lighting intensity:
The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a
single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon.
Please provide:
1. Two full sets of revised drawings addressing each of these conditions. Include updated ARB revision
dates on each drawing.
2. A memo including detailed responses indicating how each condition has been satisfied. If changes
other than those requested have been made, identify those changes in the memo also. Highlighting
the changes in the drawing with "clouding" or by other means will facilitate review and approval.
3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal" form. This form must be returned with your revisions to
ensure proper tracking and distribution.
When staff's review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a Certificate of
Appropriateness may be issued.
