[Johnl.Winn @VDOT.Virginia.gov] Sent: Friday, February 03, 2012 11:36 AM To: Joel DeNunzio, P.E.; Christopher Perez Subject: RE: Entrance approval for a Family Subdivision Christopher, I have made an onsite visit and intersectional sight distance cannot be met, but stopping sight distance can be achieved at this site with minor tree trimming. VDOT has a new allowance for a moderate use commercial use entrance with a limit of 50 vpd entering the site and it requires stopping sight distance, which the applicant can meet, but the entrance needs to be widened to 24' for the first 30' of the entrance. Please have the applicant contact me and we can meet onsite to determine what needs to be changed. Additionally this site will require some type of commercial entrance because it appears to have three users and two homes is the limit on a private entrance. Thanks John W. Winn Jr. L.S. Subject: Entrance approval for a Family Subdivision Joel, We have a Family Subdivision application in our office for a 2.118 acre lot off the residue of Tax map 21 -3 for Travis Douglas. The division is in need of VDOT Approval of their entrance to an existing 30' private road off Fray's Mill Road State Route 641. The private road currently serves lot C -1 (one existing house and an existing trailer) and lot C -2 (vacant land). The division will effectively divide lot C -1 so that the existing trailer is on its own lot (C -1A). For reference attached is the proposed plat. If you have any questions, please give me a call.
