The Water Protection Plans (WP0201100014) submitted 25 January 2011 have received
Engineering Review and do not appear to meet Albemarle County minimum checklist items for
approval. Please adequately address the following comments for final approval:
Road and drainage plans (SDP201200008)
a. VDOT approval is required. Comments will be forwarded when received. [DM905]
2. Site plan (SDP201200008)
a. Please note to the segmental retaining wall is Anchor Diamond or equivalent. The County
cannot indorse a single product over another.
b. The segmental retaining wall appears to exceed the 2' width as shown. According to
manufactures details the wall could be as wide as 4' or more due to the proposed height
and the 1" set back per 8" course. Please show the wall accurately on the plans.
c. Please show a spot elevation at the bottom of the steps by the handicap parking space.
d. Plan appears to require a drop inlet added to the entrance of the alley to stop the existing
storm flow from entering Library Avenue. This inlet should be utilized to capture runoff
from the site as well as from the alley.
3. Stormwater Management and Mitigation Plan (WP0201100014)
a. The Crozet downtown Stormwater project has not been completed and the drainage
system to the basin has not been installed. A Licking Hole fee will be generated upon
WPO approval.
4. Erosion Control Plan (WP0201100014)
a. Sediment trap is within the building footprint and does not appear to work once the
building construction begins. Please add a note to the plan that states the retaining wall
portion of the building, storm drain system, and positive grading to proposed inlets will be
completed prior to asking the inspector for permission to remove the sediment trap.
b. ESC -3 shows a (DD) symbol where a (SF) should be along the alley.
c. Please submit for County files the off -site construction easement as shown on the plans.
Once these comments have been addressed, please submit 3 copies of the revised plans, calculations, and
narratives to Current Development Engineering along with the required review fee and transmittal form.

[17- 204.f] An application for an erosion and sediment control plan that requires modifications, terms, or conditions to be
included in order for it to be approved shall be deemed to be withdrawn if the owner fails to submit a revised plan addressing the
omitted modifications, terms or conditions within six (6) months after the owner is informed of the omitted information as
provided under paragraph (B).
