Sign Location/Coordination With Architecture: Architectural Review Board (ARB) sign guidelines indicate that wall signs must coordinate with, and not over- crowd, the architectural element, wall or sign area they are located within. Both signs "A NEW LEAF" and "FLORIST ", in the proposed photo - rendering, are located off - center to the grille panels they are attached to. It appears this might have been done in an effort to add text to the existing sign, while working around the vertical member separating the two grille panels (and sign text). As a result, this configuration gives an unbalanced, over - crowded appearance to the sign. • Revise the application drawing to show both signs centered within the grille panels they are attached to. Suggestion (not a requirement): Revising the font of the text "FLORIST" to a slighter, lighter (in appearance) font, offering contrast with the other sign text, would give balance to the overall sign by giving reason to why the name is spread out over two panels. • Revise the application drawing to indicate the length and height of the "A NEWLEAF" text and the length and height of the grille behind it. Emailing the revised drawing, though not required, is preferred. I will call you after sending this email to make sure my comments are clear. Thanks, Brent Brent W.
