Subject: Colonial Nissan (SDP201100060) critical slope waiver request
The critical slope waiver request has been reviewed. The engineering analysis of the request follows:
Description of critical slope area and proposed disturbance:
This is a manmade slope above a County Stormwater detention structure. The applicant is proposing
to construct a retaining wall for the purpose of increasing vehicular circulation on site. slopes were
created with the site plan SDP1999 -049.

Exemptions to critical slopes waivers for driveways, roads, and utilities without reasonable
alternative locations:
This disturbance is not exempt.
Compliance with Zoning Ordinance 18 -4.2:
"movement of soil and rock"
Proper slope construction, control of drainage, and vegetative stabilization will prevent any movement
of soil.
"excessive stormwater runoff'
Stormwater runoff will be reduced in this area, as the slopes will be eliminated.
"siltation"
Inspection and bonding by the County will ensure siltation control during construction. Proper
stabilization and maintenance will ensure long term stability.
"loss of aesthetic resource"
This area is visible from the roads and businesses in the neighborhood. The slopes were created with
the site plan SDP1999 -049.
"septic effluent"
This neighborhood is serviced by public sewer.
Based on the review above, there are no engineering concerns which prohibit the disturbance of the critical
slopes as shown.
