The standard CG -12 ramp slope cannot exceed 12:1 on the ramp and needs to have a minimum 4 foot traversable area behind the top of the ramp. This plan does not show the correct dimensions on the length of the ramps nor does it have adequate traversable areas. 2. The future entrance to the library is in the wrong location according to the approved site plan. 3. Mill and overlay Library Avenue to the centerline of the road where the curbing is being replaced. 4. The minimum entrance curb return radii are 25 feet. The minimum throat entrance length is 35 feet in accordance with the VDOT Road Design Manual, Appendix F. The proposed entrance does not meet these minimum requirements. 5. Adequate pavement cross slope transition needs to be shown on the plan and the transition rates need to be in accordance with the VDOT Road and Bridge Standards Section 800. The existing grade on Library Ave is 7 to 8 percent and when you tie in the cross slo0pe of the connection and transition it back appropriately, the sag points in the gutters will not occur at the same location as the sag point in the vertical curve and this road will not drain properly. The di's in the sag need to be adjusted to accommodate the pavement transition. The sag will also need flanking inlets in accordance with the requirements of the VDOT Drainage Manual. 6. The proposed 6" sanitary sewer was not previously acceptable to the ACSA. This line needs to go up the side of the road and cross at perpendicular. 7. The vertical curve for the proposed Barnes Dr. needs to start closer to station 10 +18 instead of 10 +12. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Joel Joel DeNunzio, P.E.
