Subject: Site Review Meeting Comments April 19t", 2012 site review meeting
Dear Mr. Brooks:
Below are VDOT's comments on the Site Plans for the April 19'", 2012 Site Review Committee Meeting:
SDP - 2012 -00020 NTELOS -Tier II Monopole(CV732)- Final (Sarah Baldwin)
1. No objections
SUB- 2012 -00038 Westlake Hills - Preliminary Subdivision Plat (Ellie Ray)
1. The layout meets the VDOT SSAR criteria for multiple connections but fails to meet the criteria
for multiple directions as stated in the 24VAC30 -92 -60 Public Benefit Requirements, Section C.
An additional connection to an existing state maintained road or the construction of a stub out is
required for the streets to qualify for state maintenance. A stub out to the northern parcel does
not appear possible due to the approved Foothill Crossing plan. A stub out to a developable
parcel to the south or a road connection to the existing Clearfields Lane is required. The
connection should be coordinated with the county planning staff.
2. The functional classifications and design speeds appear to be adequate for the development.
3. The road widths for roads over 400 vehicles per day and one connection point are required to
have widths in accordance with the standard for roads with projected traffic of 2000 -4000
vehicles per day. Road "E" from the intersection of Road `B" to the east has only one connection
and will need to be 36 feet in width. This requirement may change due to layout changes for
connectivity.
4. Road and drainage plans will be required for proposed state maintained roads.
