Please adequately address the following comments for final approval: 1) Please clarify the construction and purpose of the temporary slope drain. a) Will the slope drain be connected directly into the stormwater system? If so, it will require a manhole structure. b) Will the slope drain outlet into the roadside gutter? This will not be acceptable unless approved by the County Engineer and VDOT. c) The inspector has reported that this temporary slope drain is not required due to existing stormwater system existing from Parking lot basin installation (as noted in the narrative). Please confirm existing site conditions and show any corrections on the plan. d) Perhaps the existing pipe into the back of the curb inlet structure can be utilized for stormwater control instead of the (TSD). 2) Please replace the inlet protections shown with the ones from VESCH that have emergency overflow capabilities. 3) The narrative's existing conditions should mention the previously completed phase 1 plan to install the parking area and SWM structure. 4) Plan appears to show excess material will have to be removed from the site. Please add a note to the plan stating "All materials removed from the site must be taken to previously approved locations ". 5) Please show the Albemarle County Paved Temporary Construction Entrance Detail on the plan. 6) The Temporary Paved Wash Rack description in the narrative shall have a note stating "A minimum water tap of 1" must be installed with a minimum 1" ballcock shutoff valve supplying a wash hose with a diameter of 1.5" for adequate constant pressure. Wash water must be carried away from the entrance to an approved settling area to remove sediment. All sediment shall be prevented from entering storm drains, ditches or water courses." Should the temporary construction entrance not be maintained properly or an excessive amount of soil Engineering Review Comments Page 2 of 2 found tracked onto the public roadway, then a paved construction entrance, water tanker truck with 2 pressure washers and a settling area may be required by the erosion and sediment control program administrator. 7) Stockpiles and appropriate ESC measures must be shown on the plans or the narrative must state no stockpiles will be located on the site.
