Hello Don,
SDP - 2012 -011 may be signed once the following items are addressed:
1. [32.5.6a] Date and Description of Latest Revision. Add a date and description of latest revision
xAA+k oorh roci ihmiffol
2. [32.5.6p]/[32.7.9] Landscape Plan. It appears from recent correspondence that engineering
has requested changes in the vicinity of the row of existing shrubbery and the 2 8" Southern
River Birch currently shown to remain. Ensure that [32.7.9] Landscaping is still being met,
especially in light of Engineering comments requesting the removal of some of the landscaping
I had previously reviewed. Be sure to use the required planting list previously provided. For
your convenience, I am re- attaching the required planting list. Also, along the public street
frontage (Mill Creek Drive), only the shrubs that were shown directly underneath the driplines
of existing trees may be removed. This minimal amount of change will be checked in the next
submittal.
Final Revision: See below.
3. [32. . ittc Dn the cover sheet, revise the sum figure (acres) for the amount
of land disturbance, the parking area, and the drive isle area to reflect the elimination of
different bid levels.
4. [General Comment] Remove all references to different bid levels, if this is the case, and show
all work in one phase, if this is the case.
5. [General Comment] Remove the Planting Note #11 that was added with Revision #1. All
landscaping is subject to review and approval by the County. Field adjustments are not
permitted. If field adjustments become necessary, review and approval by the County is
required.
6. [General Comment] Waterline easement plats and deeds of easements are being handled
directly by ACSA. I will not be able to stamp, sign, and initial the minor site plan amendment
until ACSA approval is received.
7. [32.7.2.1] No objections have been received from VDOT.
8. [32.7.2.7] Obtain Engineering approval.
1. [32.7.9.5(a)] The shrubs for public frontage screening along Mill Creek Drive need to be a
minimum of 18" high rather than 12" as shown.
2. [32.7.9.4/32.7.9.9] Minimum canopy requirements appear to be met, but no canopy
calculations are provided. Add a canopy calculation demonstrating that a minimum canopy of
10% of the site and a minimum of 5% in landscaping in relationship to the total area in paved
parking and vehicular circulation to sheet C7.0.
3. [32.7.9] Revise the errors /discrepancies in caliper for the 2 Southern River Birches between
the landscape plan on sheet C7.0 and the existing tree inventory also on sheet C7.0. These 2
Southern River Birches are tree "M" and tree "N." The caliper listed on the plan is labeled as
8 ", but the caliper listed in the existing tree inventory is 6 ". Verify that no other discrepancies
exist and ensure that revisions are reflected on all sheets (light grey notations).
4. 1 marked on 1 copy of the 9 copies provided, so provide 1 additional full, revised set.
Engineering has requested 5 copies and Planning requires 4 additional copies, so provide 8
slip sheets of the revised sheet C7.0 for the other 8 sets. If any other sheets are revised,
provide additional replacement slip sheets.
5. Schedule an appointment for in- person signing on Friday, assuming all remaining issues are
revised. In the interest of time, please do not submit through the Community Development
front desk, as distribution to planners usually takes a couple of days. I will be out of the office
on Monday.
