(VDOT) [ Joel .DeNunzio @VDOT.virginia.gov] Sent: Friday, September 14, 2012 9:36 AM To: Ellie Ray Cc: Oleynik, Megan (VDOT) Subject: SUB - 2011 -00111 Belvedere Phase 2 - Preliminary Plat Ellie, I have reviewed the subject subdivision plat and have the following comments: VDOT expects that parking will be provided on both sides of proposed streets except for Colbert Street because the first part of this street has already been constructed. Road R is shown as 29 feet which meets VDOT standards but after our meeting I understand that Fire and Rescue wants a parking restriction or these units to be served by sprinklers. VDOT does not support a restriction of parking on this street at this time. Alleys that are proposed to be 14 feet wide still need to meet the minimum width requirements in the VDOT Road Design Manual. I sent an e -mail to the applicant on 7 -13 -2012 stating that the reduction of width from the 24 feet for local roads can be reduced to 20 feet for one way traffic flow. I do not see that these alleys will be one way traffic flow and need to meet the minimum width requirements. The street width for Farrow Drive is fine at 34 feet but will need to continue that width to the intersection with Butler Street. Right of Way along lot 182 and Dabney Park may need to be adjusted. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Joel Joel DeNunzio, P.E. Acting Residency Administrator VDOT Charlottesville Residency 434 - 422 -9373 ioel .denunzioCd)vdot.viroinia.00v
