The first road plan revision submittal (SUB201200106) associated with site plan minor
amendment (SDP201200055) of approved subdivision plan SUB201200008 submitted 29 August
2012 has received Engineering Review and does not appear to meet Albemarle County minimum
checklist items for approval. This review does not include a review of Erosion & Sediment
Control (ESC) or Stormwater Management (SWM). Modifications proposed to the approved
subdivision plan (SUB2012- 00008) require modifications to the ESC and SWM for this block to
be addressed before approval of this proposed minor amendment. Please adequately address the
following comments for minor amendment approval:
Title Information
1) Final amendment submittal will need to be signed and dated by a professional
engineer.
Proposed Plan View Information
1) VDOT approval is required for this project as it affects public right of way.
2) Several intersection sight distance leaders appear to be missing or not pointing to
the apparent sight distance easement lines including in lots 1, 12, 15, 28, and 32 on
sheet 4. Please update leaders and label all apparent easements.
3) Please label all roads on sheets 6 and 14.

Street Profiles
1) Algebraic differences in grade are shown by percentage; please increase the
values shown on sheet 9 by 100x.
2) Multiple profile vertical curves are deficient as proposed on sheet 9 including:
Wheatfield Way (DS 20 mph) PVI sta 12 +34.23
Glenn Valley Drive (DS 25 mph) PVI sta 12 +50.00
Wheatfield Lane (DS 20 mph) PVI sta 10 +30.13
Wheatfield Lane (DS 20 mph) PVI sta 11 +25.00
Wheatfield Court (DS 20 mph) PVI sta 12 +37.51
Please revise these curves to meet design geometric parameters for adequate
stopping sight distance.
3) Please include VDOT CD -1 cross drains at cut -fill transition points on all profiles.
4) Street grades are required to be < 4% for a minimum of 40' from the edge of
pavement of an intersected street. Please revise profiles to accommodate.
