Pedro,
I have completed my review of the above -noted ARB sign application. I have identified the following issues
needing to be adequately addressed for an administrative ARB approval.
Sign Structure Materials /Colors:
Revise the sign drawing to include the following note: The materials in the masonry base are to match ARB approved
materials in the building remodel. Revise the sign drawing to include the Pantone equivalent number for the sign structure
(SW0011).
Sign Colors:
Revise the sign drawing to include the Pantone equivalent numbers for each sign panel (PMS #s for white &
black not required). Be advised, the ARB has determined that Red PMS 485 (Mattress Warehouse
background ?) is a color that is inappropriate. The sign drawing should only contain the names of actual tenants.
Obvious fictional names can be used. The ARB approval letter will only include criteria for tenant panels with
actual tenants.
Zoning Approval.
Stewart Wright, Zoning Permit Planner, requested additional information on 10/22/12 from the applicant to
make his determination regarding compliance with the zoning ordinance. Be advised that his approval is
required before ARB approval can be granted.
Text /Tenant Panel Dimensions:
Revise the sign drawing to include text /logo & overall sign dimensions for all sign panels including the
shopping center ID panel.
Illumination Type.
Revise the sign drawing to indicate the proposed bulb type for the internal illumination. Should LED be
proposed, the following note regarding intensity is required: The level of illumination provided by the LED lights
will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon.
Opaque Background:
Both ARB Sign Guidelines & the Zoning Ordinance require that the background of internally illuminated signs
be opaque; only the text and logos are permitted to illuminate. Revise the sign drawing to include the following
note: The shopping center ID panel and all tenant panels shall have opaque backgrounds, only the text and logo
shall illuminate.
