Erosion Control Plan (WP0201200097) 1. Please date and source the topographic information: All topography should be at least visually field verified by the designer within the last year. Also, it appears that you are referencing two different topo layers and meshing them into one. There are areas where contour lines just break off. Please clarify. 2. Please describe where you will place excavated material. The road is crowned with no curb and gutter on Fairwinds Lane and Carlyle Place. Placing excavated soil west of trench on Fairwinds Lane is not an option since it will impede on the use of the proposed one lane road. Will there be a stockpile location? If so, please provide stockpile location on plans with adequate silt fence. Also provide a note on plans that trucks will haul excavated soil to and from stockpile location. 3. Once the pavement is disturbed on Fairwinds Lane and Carlyle Place, sediment can flow towards properties on the down slopes. This ties back to comment 2 and placement of excavated material will determine if sediment and erosion control measures are necessary for properties adjacent to disturbed road. Please clarify. 4. Please describe how the property owners will be able to move in and out of driveways. Those most affected appears to be east of Fairwind Lane. Provide a note in the construction sequence. 5. It appears there is shallow cover for the 24" stormsewer pipe. Please provide a note on sheet C3 for contractor to verify utility depths for the 24" stormsewer. Also note that damaged structures will be replaced. 6. It appears that you are accessing the stream from both sides to avoid crossing over the stream. If this is the case, please provide a note on sheet C3 and C4. If you are crossing the stream, a utility stream crossing and diversion should be shown on plans. Please clarify. 7. A VDOT permit is required to use the cul -de -sac for equipment staging. Please provide copies of easements for the 10' temporary construction easements. Any documentation from existing owners will suffice. 8. Please provide a 70' construction entrance off the Fairwinds Lane cul -de -sac and Carlyle Place and label as CE. The staging area is not considered a construction entrance. Please show the staging are off Carlyle Place. 9. Please provide the limits of disturbance on site. 10. Please sign and seal all plans. Engineering Review Comments Page 2 of 2 11. Please extend the silt fence west of Linkinghole Creek another 10' north. Please mimick the total length silt fence on other side of creek. 12. Please extend the silt fence near station 31 +00 all the way down to Carlyle Place. Also, there appears to be a drainage ditch just south of station 29 +00. If this is correct, please provide adequate erosion and sediment control measures for this area. I recommend checkdams along the ditch with a sediment trap at the bottom. If you are not proposing a drainage ditch, please clarify the sediment & erosion control measures for this steep slope. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.
