Ellie,
When I review the documents, it seems to me that the airport has not been given access to
clear the sight line if needed even though the plat shows a sight easement. It looks like
the deed only gives the ability for the adjacent landowner to clear any sight lines.
I believe that the airport needs to show that they have a legal right to clear the sight
lines if needed.

Ellie,
It looks like the airport gave the rights to their neighbor for a sight
easement but now the neighbor needs to give those same rights to the
airport for their new entrance. I don't see anything in this that
identifies the airport having the ability to clear sight lines on the
other parcel

Ellie,
Sorry for the slow response. We have had difficulty tracking down this
information. We had previously located a plat showing the easement for
both the Airport and the adjacent parcel and had worked with the
assumption it was a public easement. The deed for the airport's
easement states that the easement is to be maintained in accordance with
VDOT regulations and is for public safety on Route 606 as well as safe
use and access of the adjacent parcel. Clearing on the Airport easement
is to be done by the owners of the adjacent parcel. In researching the
adjacent parcel, no specific reference to the sight easement was found.
It is only shown on the Plat with the Airport's easement. For your
reference, a copy of the Airport's sight easement and the deed for the

adjacent parcel are attached with the relevant sections highlighted.
Please forward to VDOT for their review and comment.
