The Minor site Plan amendment for Three Notched Center (SDP201300029) submitted 8
May 2013 has received Engineering Review and does not appear to meet Albemarle
County minimum checklist items for approval. Please adequately address the following
comments for final approval:
A) Site plan
1) Existing topographical information appears possibly outdated. All topography will be
field verified by design engineer within the last year. [18- 32.6.6, 14 -302, Policy for date]
2) Proposed contour 660 appears to be missing on the initial phase.
3) All impervious areas will drain into SWM catchment structures.
4) Parking space next to building over unlabeled underground structures does not appear to
have safe backing out area.
5) Dumpster pad area does not appear accessible to disposal trucks per one -way directional
arrows as shown.
6) Please show "tire path" for trash removal truck to dumpster pad area per AASHTO single
unit truck standards.
7) Island radii will be 3' minimum for safety. (Policy)
8) Parking spaces in final phase need to be 18' from back of entrance radius to prevent
queuing onto State Route 240.
9) Retaining walls will be labeled with maximum height (walls require building permits
according to Building Official policy). Top and bottom elevations at grade changes
should suffice for building permit reviews.
10) Please show safety railing on retaining walls over 4' in height (building permit may be
more strict)
11) Guardrail with VDOT designation will be shown for retaining walls next to parking or
travelway.
Due to requested changes, additional comments and/or conditions may be forthcoming.
B) Drainage, Stormwater Management and Mitigation Plan
1) Previous plan WP0200900016 has expired per 17 -204.G of County Code. A new
application, plan, and fee are required for review and approval. No review performed at

C) Erosion Control Plan
1) Previous plan WP0200900016 has expired per 17 -204.G of County Code. A new
application, plan, and fee are required for review and approval. No review performed at
this time.
Once these comments have been addressed, please submit 2 copies of the revised plans, calculations, and
narratives to Current Development Engineering.
