Whirley Commissioner of Highways August 5, 2013 Ms. Megan Yaniglos Senior Planner County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Re: SUB - 2013 -035 Estes Park — Final Plat Dear Ms. Yaniglos: We have reviewed the final plat entitled "Subdivision Plat Showing Regent Street Dedication Being a Portion of Tax Map 46134 Parcel 5 Located on Worth Crossing" dated April 17, 2012 with revisions dated July 9, 2013 as submitted by Lincoln Surveying and offer the following comments: 1. Plat indicates that the right -of -way is variable width while the approved construction plans 54' right -of -way. Why is there not a curve shown on the south side of Regent Street parallel to C1? If there was a curve section at this location, it appears that the right -of -way would be a constant 54' right -of -way. 2. It appears that the storm sewer that is to be located within the proposed new 20' drainage easement will convey site runoff from TMP 46134 -5 from the north side of Regent Street to the south side. As this is essentially a private storm sewer, VDOT would not maintain this section of storm sewer. If you need additional information concerning this project, please feel free to contact me.
