HomeMy WebLinkAboutARB201300140 Review Comments Miscellaneous Submittal 2013-10-24Brent Nelson From: Brent Nelson Sent: Thursday, October 24, 2013 3:03 PM To: John Grady (cvpllc @yahoo.com) Subject: ARB 13 -140, 1807 Seminole Trail Sign, Staff Comments Importance: High John - I have completed my review of the above -noted sign application. The following issues have been identified that will need to be adequately addressed for an administrative approval. Sign Colors • Revise the sign drawing to include the colors (& pantone numbers) for all parts of the sign structure, including the sign base. • Revise the sign drawing to include the background color (& pantone number) for the four tenant panels. The same color should be used for all four to increase coordination. • Revise the sign drawing to include a list of three colors (& pantone numbers) for future applicants to choose from, for the text and graphics on their tenant panels. The ARB has indicated in the past that the bottom three colors on the Pantone color chip (page) are considered to be appropriate. Sign Location/Landscgping • The photo - rendering makes the sign appear to be located in front of the existing landscaping. The applicant has indicated the sign is to be located in the exact same location as the existing sign, inside the existing landscaping. Revise the sign drawing to include notes explaining this discrepancy and indicating that the existing landscaping is to remain. Zoning Approval • Stewart Wright, Zoning Permit Planner, has denied the proposal in the County View sign permit tracking system. ARB approval cannot be issued until all zoning issues have been adequately addressed. Sign Location/Lighting • The note stating "Aluminum, extruded cabinet. Internally illuminated" contradicts the note indicating external illumination is proposed. Revise the sign drawing by removing all requests (notes) for internal illumination. • Provide a plan view drawing showing the location of the ground- mounted light fixture(s), the sign and the landscaping around the sign. The fixture should be shielded by landscaping so that it is not visible from any adjacent property or right -of -way. • Provide a cutsheet of the proposed light fixture. • Revise the photo- rendering to indicate the proposed bulb type and wattage. The bulb type & wattage will need one that emits less than 3,000 lumens to avoid the full cutoff requirement. Please contact me should you have any questions or concerns. Brent Brent W.
