RE: ARB- 2014 - 02:1885 Seminole Trail New Paint
Dear Logan,
I have reviewed the above - referenced application for a county -wide Certificate of Appropriateness. With the revised paint
color submitted on 1/28/2014 (Benjamin Moore 1127 Sedona Brown), your proposal meets all of the design criteria
outlined by the Architectural Review Board for this type of Certificate. You may consider this letter your Certificate of
Appropriateness for the building color change. Your application also included a request to change the color of the
freestanding sign from green to Sedona Brown. As we discussed, you may find that Sedona Brown looks too dark next to
the black backgrounds of the tenant panels. Consequently, we have also approved Decatur Buff for the freestanding sign
structure.
This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed for review, will be used. The acceptance
of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the site plan, attachments, materials,
samples, and other submittal items presented. Any change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to
the plan and a new application.
Please note the following:
1. The original cornice color Van Buren Brown HC -70 was revised to Sedona Brown 1127. Approved building wall colors
are: North building - Mystic Gold HC -37, middle building - Richmond Bisque, south building - Decatur Buff HC -38.
2. Any changes to the tenant panels in the freestanding sign require sign permits. Please be sure you obtain approval for a
sign permit prior to any future change to the tenant panels.
3. This Certificate of Appropriateness is valid for 3 years. Applicants requesting an extension of the period of validity
must do so in writing. The letter must be received by the Director of Planning prior to the expiration date.
If you have any questions concerning any of the above, please feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
Margaret Maliszewski
Principal Planner
