ARB201400052, Dignity Memorial - IVY, Staff Comments
Hi Noel - I have completed my review of the above -noted sign application. The following issues have been identified
that will need to be adequately addressed for my administrative approval.
1. Provide the $120 ARB review fee.
2. Revise the note on the sign drawing "Black background is to be opaque" to read: "Black and white backgrounds
are to be opaque."
3. Revise the sign drawing to include a note indicating the lighting bulb type. If LED is proposed, revise the drawing
to include the standard note limiting intensity:
The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30
milliamp (ma) neon.

Subject: Teague Funeral Services - Sign Refacing
Hello Brent I hope all is well. Just a quick question about a sign permit application we'll be submitting for refacing a sign
at 2260 Ivy Rd. I've attached the proposal we received from our clients and I want to run it by your first for your
feedback. This is an existing internally illuminated sign face and we'll simply be replacing the face. Obviously the black
background will need to be opaque and the white copy can illuminate; however, can the gold graphic elements also
illuminate? And how would you review the white oval at the center of the sign? Would we be allowed to have that
illuminate at night? Let me know your thoughts when you have a moment please.
Thank you.
