Commissioner April 14, 2014 Mr. Johnathan Newberry County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Re: SDP2013 -00044 Old Trail Village Block 113 & 3C Dear Mr. Newberry: We have reviewed the final site plan for Old Trail Village, Block 1, Phase B and Block 3, Phase C dated July 1, 2013 with revisions dated 9127113, 1120114, 2111114, 3]5114, and 3124114 as submitted by Roudabush, Gale & Associates and offer the following comments: 1. It has been determined that there needs to be a minimum of 3 feet of right -of -way behind the curb and gutter to allow for maintenance of the curb and gutter. This site plan does not need to be resubmitted for this item. The right -of -way can be addressed with the final subdivision plat. 2. The pavers, sidewalk, and street trees along Ashlar Avenue will not be maintained by VDOT. An easement for the sidewalk and street trees will need to be provided on the final plat and a maintenance agreement with Albemarle County will need to be provided. 3. The site plan appears to be in compliance with VDOT standards and specifications, and VDOT has no objection to site plan as submitted. At least 48 hours prior to construction, a pre - construction conference needs to be held with the inspector from this office in attendance. In addition, a Land Use Permit issued through this office will be necessary for any and all work that will occur within dedicated right -of -way.
