The County of Albemarle Planning Division will recommend approval of the plan referenced above once the
following comments have been satisfactorily addressed (The following comments are those that have been
identified at this time. Additional comments or conditions may be added or eliminated based on further review.):
[Each comment is preceded by the applicable reference, which is to the Subdivision /Zoning Ordinances unless
otherwise specified.]
1. [Comment] For recordkeeping purposes: The original LOR #1 submittal was deemed voluntarily withdrawn
on November 15, 2013. This submittal is of a much smaller scale and distinctly different from the original
submittal, but is still processed as LOR #1 since the original submittal was never approved.
2. [Comment] The sketch provided contains a combination of existing conditions, proposed improvements
and what look like future improvements. Due to the presence of future improvements, it is difficult to tell
what the existing conditions are and what is proposed with this submittal; clarify the existing and proposed
improvements from those that are to be approved /built in the future.
3. [32.5.2(a)] Provide a note indicating the scale of the drawing.
4. [32.5.2(n)] It appears that the parking on the northern side of the parking lot may not be 18' long depending
on where the existing pavement ends (see above). The dimension provided seems to include paved area
that is not yet built. Clearly show the proposed parking spaces and provide an accurate dimension. Parking
spaces can be reduced to 16' if there is a 2' unobstructed overhang area (not including sidewalks).
5. [32.5.2(n)] Dimension the parking aisles; all aisles supporting 9' wide parking spaces must be a minimum
of 24' wide. As noted above, it is difficult to tell, but the existing pavement does not seem to provide the
minimum 24'.
6. [32.5.2(n)] Label the curb radii on the parking islands and exterior curbing.
7. [32.6.2(i)] Label the width and length of all of the parking spaces, including the handicapped space and
associated access space.
8. [32.6.2(i)] Clearly show which parking spaces are proposed or will remain with this LOR. Depending on the
location of the existing pavement, it looks as if one of the 13 noted in the application is not a full width
space.
9. [Comment] This Letter of Revision cannot be approved until OFD and ARB grant their approval; comments
will be forwarded upon receipt. Engineering comments have been provided. The Inspections reviewer has
completed their review and has no objection.
