The following issues remain that will need to be addressed for my administrative approval. Regarding the freestanding sign. Cabinet signs must have opaque backgrounds. Revise the drawing to include the following note regarding the internal illumination of the freestanding cabinet sign: "The cabinet background shall be opaque when illuminated; only the text & graphic shall illuminate." Other: • The sign proposal cannot be approved until ARB approval (ARB201400021) of the building and site has been issued. ARB revisions have not been received for staff to review. • The sign proposal cannot be approved until the Final Site Plan (SDP201400053) has been approved. A Final Site Plan has been received and is under review. • The sign proposal cannot be approved until Stewart Wright, Zoning Permit Planner, has reviewed and approved the sign permit drawings. He has previously indicated he will not begin his review until the Final Site Plan (SDP) has been approved. If all of the above -noted issues are not adequately addressed by August 18'h, I will be required to issue a denial of the ARB sign application. You would need to reapply for another ARB review and provide another $120 ARB review fee. You can avoid this by sending me an email no later than Friday, August 15'h "requesting a definite deferral of ARB 201400085, Chick -Fil -A signs until October 1 — to allow needed time to address all outstanding issues." The following issues have been identified. Currently there is no approved site plan and no ARB approved site and building plan. I cannot approve this ARB application until there is site plan approval and ARB approval of the site and building plans. Do not begin construction of any signs until you have both ARB sign approval and an approved sign permit. Regarding the freestanding sign. 1. Revise the sign drawing with notes to clearly indicate just what illuminates. The zoning ordinance requires that the sign have an opaque background. Include a note that the white background shall be opaque. 2. Revise the sign drawing to include the following note regarding LED intensity: The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon. 3. The sign location and landscaping around the sign cannot be evaluated until the site plan/landscape plan has been approved. 4. Sign brick base material must match the approved building material. Currently, no building material has been approved. Regarding the wall signs: 1. The zoning permit planner will not evaluate the wall signs for compliance with the zoning ordinance until the site plan has been approved. 2. The wall signs cannot be evaluated for compliance with the ARB sign guidelines until the ARB has approved the building design. 3. Revise the sign drawing to include the following note regarding LED intensity: The level of illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon.
