An adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, was held
on July 15, 1981, at 3:00 P.M. in the County Executive's Conference Room, Fourth Floor,
County Office Building., Charlottesville, Virginia; said meeting adjourned from July 8, 1981.
Present: Messrs. Gerald E. Fisher, F. Anthony lachetta, C. Timothy Lindstrom, Layton
R. McCann and Miss Ellen V. Nash.
Absent: Mr. J. T. Henley, Jr.

The meeting was called to order at 3:37 P.M. by the Chairman,
Agenda Item No. 2. Executive Session: Personnel and Legal Matters.
At 3:38 P.M., motion was offered by Mr. Lindstrom, seconded by Dr. Iaahetta, to adjourn
into executive ,Session to discuss personnel and legal matters. Roll was called and the
motion carried by the following recorded vote:

NAYS:
ABSENT:
Messrs. Fisher, iachetta, Lindstrom, McCann and Miss Nash.
None.
Mr. HEnley.
The Board reconvened into open session at 5:30 P.M.

A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, was held
on July 15, 1981, at 7:30 P.M., in the Albemarle County Courthouse, Charlottesville, Virginia.
Present: Messrs. Gerald E. Fisher, J. T. Henley, Jr., F. Anthony Iachetta, C. Timothy
Lindstrom, Layton R. McCann and Miss Ellen V. Nash.
Absent: None.
Officers Present: County Executive, Guy B. Agnor, Jr.; County Attorney, George R. St.
John; and County Planner, Robert W. Tucker, Jr.
Agenda Item No. 1. The meeting was called to order at 7:41 P.M. by the Chairman, Mr.
Fisher who presented an award the County received at the NACO Annual Conference for the use
of the old County jail by the National Offender Aid and Restoration headquarter offices.
Mr. Fisher presented the award to Mr. Agnor for the placement of such in the new County
Office Building.
Mr. Fisher then presented to the media a list of items that the City desired more
details on as a result of the County's counterproposal to them last week regarding the
annexation matter. Work has begun on the list and hopefully a response can be made in a
few weeks.
Agenda Item No. 3. SP-81-26. Andrew Dennis Brown. Petition to allow an existing
garage to include selling of vehicles (used car lot). Located on the northwestern corner
of the intersection of Routes 6 and 630, consisting of 3.207 acres zoned RA. County Tax
Map 126, Parcel 28C. Scottsville District. (Advertised in the Daily Progress on July 1
and July 8, 1981.)
Mr. Fisher then noted the following letter dated July 15, 1981 received today:
"Board of Supervisors
County of Albemarle
Albemarle County Office Building
Charlottesville, Va. 22901
Gentlemen:
I am the attorney for the applicant, Andrew Dennis Brown. Mr. Brown does
hereby withdraw his application for a special use permit as described in the
application designated SP-81-26.

Mr. Fisher then asked if anyone was present to speak on the petition. There being no
one, Mr. Fisher said a motion is in order to allow withdrawal of SP-81-26 without prejudice.
Motion to this effect was offered by Mr. Lindstrom, seconded by Dr. Iachetta, and carried
by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Messrs. Fisher, Henley, Iachetta, Lindstrom, McCann and Miss Nash.
NAYS: None.
