The scope of the requested revisions is as depicted on the attached sketches as well as in the narrative below. The southern portion of SWM structure #8 is to be excavated and re -constructed with a revised soil section including a 3" layer of pea gravel and 12" of well graded gravel below 36"of biofilter soil media. A perforated under -drain will be added extending east to west across the full width of the structure to assist in gradual draining. The drain will then turn up and toward VDOT storm structure S-9 along Avon Street. The Civil engineer has reviewed the intersection with S-9 and feels confident that SWM #8 will not be adversely affected by storm water from the street. As a safety measure, we intend to place a flap on the mouth of the drain from SWM #8 at its entry to S-9. See attached sketches for illustration of the revisions. As a result of the above structural revisions, landscaping will be remove and replaced. The following describes how the approved planting will be replaced/revised: a. The Swamp White Oak, Qb-1, will be removed and replaced in kind. See LSK-004 for location. b. (6) Diane Witch -hazel will be replaced/relocated in kind. See LSK-004 for locations. c. (5) Karl Foerster Blue Joint grasses will be removed and replaced with (24) Common Rush grasses planted both in the retention bed and its forebay. d. (6) Red Sprite Winterberry will be removed and replaced with (9) Compact Sweetspire shrubs. We have included a'/2 size copy of the most recent approved revision of sheet L3.2 for reference. Please let us know if there are any comments or concerns about the revisions.
