Smith, You have asked that we calculate parking required for The Fitness Gallery according to the standard used for "furniture store ", rather than the standard used for general retail. Under Section 4..12.6,.6.1 of the Zoning Ordinance, the .Zoning Administrator may determine the number of _parking spaces.required for uses not specified in this section of the Ordinance. We agree that The Fitness Gallery resembles a furniture store in terms of the size and cost of the merchandise offered. My assistant has visited the store and discussed the business with its manager.. There are four employees. Usually only one or two employees work a shift.. Given the specialized nature of the merchandise, it is unusual to.have more than three or four customers in the shop at a given time. Based on this information, it is my determination the parking standard used for furniture store shall apply to this use.. One parking space will.be required for every 400 square feet of retail sales area.. Please call me if you have any questions.. Building B will be retail with an emphasis on sports related merchandise. One of our owners will be the Fitness Gallery.
