HomeMy WebLinkAboutSTA201400001 Resolution of Intent 2014-01-15RESOLUTION OF INTENT WHEREAS, on April 1, 2009, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution of intent to consider amending the regulations in Chapter 18, Zoning, of the Albemarle County Code, pertaining to the disturbance of slopes greater than 25%; and WHEREAS, the pending zoning text amendment that would amend Chapter 18, Zoning, would add terminology, in particular the terms "managed slopes," and "preserved slopes," which would apply within a proposed steep slopes overlay district, to be established by a zoning map amendment; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to amend to the County's subdivision regulations in Chapter 14, Subdivision of Land, of the Albemarle County Code to add references to the terms "managed slopes" and "preserved slopes." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT for purposes of public necessity, convenience, general welfare, and proper administration of the Subdivision Ordinance, the Albemarle County Planning Commission hereby adopts a resolution of intent to consider amending any and all sections of Chapter 14 deemed to be appropriate to achieve the purposes described herein including, but not limited to, sections 14-216, 14-234, 14-302, 14-304, 14-404, 14-409, 14-410, 14-420, and 14-422; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing on the subdivision text amendment proposed pursuant to this resolution of intent, and make its recommendations to the Board of Supervisors at the earliest possible date.
