Re: Church of our Savior Properties (TM 61, Parcel 144 and 146D)
Dear Mr. Wood,
This letter is in reference to the Church of Our Savior properties listed as Tax Map
Parcels 61-144 and 61-146D. Parcel 61-144 is zoned R2, Residential and 61-146D is
zoned C1, Commercial. Per the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance, a church and
church facilities are permitted by right in C1 districts and by special use permit in R2
districts. The church obtained a special use permit in 2001 (SP 2000-60) to allow the
church use within this residential zoning district (see attachment). The current use of a
church and church facilities is permitted by the current zoning of the properties, and the
zoning permitting this use is not eligible for appeal at this time.
This Property is subject to a Site Development Plan, SDP2013-00064 that was
approved on June 10, 2014. Once the new construction is completed in accordance
with the approved site plan, it will be in compliance with the zoning laws of Albemarle
County, Virginia.
In addition, we are not aware of any pending proceedings, either administrative,
legislative or judicial, which would in any manner adversely affect the status of this
property or any party thereof.
