We actually do not want to put our land in preservation. When we started this process well over a year ago, we just wanted to sell 2 smaller lots, and keep the bulk of the property for ourselves. At that time we did not think we would be putting our house on the market, which we have done. The economy falling has definitely affected us (like so many other people). We just had someone look at our house and they liked everything, except for the land being in a preservation status. Our realtor thinks this is definitely going to be a selling issue. So, since nothing has been finalized, we no longer wish to put the land in preservation. It will be much easier to sell our property if the house has at least 1 or 2 subdivision rights (we may decide to keep 1 of the subdivision rights for a 21 acre parcel). We appreciate everything you have done. The County Attorney's office requested an inspector go out to the property to confirm your statement concerning the building being a barn /storage before the holiday's. However, the inspector found that there may be a zoning violation, and also would affect the preservation status of the lot, as it was his opinion that an excavating business appeared to be run out of the building. Since he was unable to enter the building, he could not make this definite conclusion. I have spoken with him, and he would like for you to contact him to set something up so he can inspect the building further. His name is Rob Heide, he is the Manager of Zoning Enforcement. You can reach him at 296.5832 extension 3243 to set something up. One question they had was that there appears to be a hunting cabin on the preservation parcel as well as a dwelling. Does this hunting cabin have sanitary structures (ie. shower, kitchen, etc)? If so, the preservation parcel only allows for one dwelling. Also, another question was if the owner 1/12/2009 Page 3 of 4 desired to limit timber harvesting to that for domestic use? I will continue to update you on any information that I receive from Scott or the County Attorney's office.
