ON -SITE PRE - CONSTRUCTION MEETING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A LAND DISTURBANCE PERMIT,
THE CERTIFIED RESPONSIBLE LAND DISTURBER (CRLD) MUST ATTEND THE PRE - CONSTRUCTION
MEETING.
2. AT THE TIME OF THE PRE - CONSTRUCTION MEETING, TWO STANDARD SIGNS SHALL BE
INSTALLED ON EACH SIDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION ACCESS. THESE SIGNS SHOULD STATE
EITHER 'CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE AHEAD' OR "TRUCKS ENTERING HIGHWAY.

AL THE SILT FENCES SHOULD PREVENT SILT FROM ENTERING ANY DOWNSTREAM STORM
SEWER SYSTEM, THERE IS NO PROPOSED SOIL STOCKPILING OR BORROWING.
MAINTENANCE:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT AL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES PERIODICALLY
AND AFTER EACH RUNOFF PRODUCING RAINFALL EVENT. ANY NECESSARY REPAIRS OR
CLEANUP TO MAINTAIN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL
BE MADE IMMEDIATELY. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL BE CHECKED, IN PARTICULAR:

ERQSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL NARRATIVE:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
THE PROPOSED LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 270' WEST OF
RT 29, NEAR AMHERST, VA THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE A DISTURBED AREA OF
2,466.92 SF; THE DEVELOPED SITE CONSISTS OF A METAL TOWER & A 120 SF
CONCRETE EQUIPMENT PAD WITHIN A 10'X16' LEASE AREA ACCESS TO THE LEASE
AREA FROM TAYLORS GAP ROAD (ROUTE 710) IS THROUGH THE EXISTING PAVED RETAIL
PARKING TO AN EXISTING GRAVEL ACCESS ROAD. AN ADDITIONAL 25' GRAVEL SPUR IS
PROPOSED FROM THE EXISTING ACCESS ROAD TO THE PROPOSED TOWER COMPOUND.
THERE ARE NO KNOWN CRITICAL AREAS, THERE ARE AN EXISTING 1 STORY BRICK
BUILDING AND AN EXISTING 1 STORY FRAME BUILDING ON THE PARENT PARCEL THE
PARENT PARCEL IS PARTLY WOODED.
ESC MEASURES - STRUCTURAL PRACTICES
STRUCTURAL MEASURES TO BE USED ON THE SITE INCLUDE SILT FENCE AND STONE
CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE. ALL MEASURES SELECTED ARE STANDARD ESC ITEMS FOR
THIS APPLICATION. ANY DISTURBED AREA DENUDED FOR SEVEN DAYS THAT IS NOT IN
ACTIVE WORK AREA TO BE TEMPORARILY SEEDED.
VEGETATION PRACTICES
VEGETATION PRACTICES INCLUDE TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT SEEDING OF ALL GRASS
fEMENT STRATEGIES:
1. CONSTRUCTION WILL BE SEQUENCED SO THAT GRADING OPERATIONS CAN BEGIN AND
END AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
2. TEMPORARY SEEDING OR OTHER STABILIZATION WILL FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER
GRADING. SEE VA E &SC HANDBOOK 3.31 -9 FOR SEEDING SPECIFICATION (BELOW).
3. AREAS WHICH ARE NOT TO BE DISTURBED WILL BE CLEARLY MARKED BY FLAGS,
SIGNS, ETC.
4. THE JOB SUPERINTENDENT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF ALL ESC PRACTICES AND SHALL BE A 'RESPONSIBLE LAND DISTURBER'
WITH A CERTIFICATE FROM THE VA DEPT OF CONSERVATION AND RECREATION.
5. AFTER ACHIEVING ADEQUATE STABILIZATION THE TEMPORARY ESC MEASURE WILL BE
CLEANED UP AND REMOVED, ONLY AFTER APPROVAL OF THE COUNTY ESC INSPECTOR.
PERMANENT STABILIZATION:
ALL AREAS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE STABILIZED WITH PERMANENT
SEEDING IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING FINISHED GRADING. SEEDING SHALL BE DONE WITH
KENTUCKY 31 TALL FESCUE ACCORDING TO STD. AND SPEC. 3.32, PERMANENT
SEEDING, OF THE HANDBOOK. EROSION CONTROL BLANKETS WILL BE INSTALLED OVER
FILL SLOPES WHICH HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO FINAL GRADE AND HAVE BEEN SEEDED
TO PROTECT THE SLOPES PROPERLY. MULCH ( SAW OR FIBER ) WILL BE USEDON
RELATIVELY FLAT AREAS. IN ALL SEEDING OPERATIONS, SEED FERTUZER AND LIME WILL
BE APPLIED PRIOR TO MULCHING.
