Jefferson Street Charlottesville, VA 22902 RE: ARB- 2015 -13: Bojangles Sign Dear Mr. Gordon, I have reviewed the above -noted sign application. The following revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines. Regarding the freestanding sign proposal: 1. The drawing appears to show internal halo - lighting of the text and graphics but does not indicate how that is going to be achieved. Provide a detail of the cabinet demonstrating how the internal halo - lighting will be produced. Revising the proposal to show only external illumination of the sign cabinet would eliminate the need for this. 2. Revise the sign drawing to indicate the monument brick will be the Triangle Brick "Old South Handform" approved for the building. 3. Revise the sign drawing to indicate the directional sign cabinets `Enter" & "Exit Only" will have opaque backgrounds; only the text and graphics shall illuminate. 4. Revise the landscape plan provided to show planting integrating the sign into the existing planting plan. This should include shrubs and ground cover. Indicate both the common and botanical name for the proposed shrub(s) and ground cover. Show the location of the ground- mounted lighting on the landscape plan. The light fixtures must be located so the shrubs shield their visibility from the Entrance Corridor. 5. Revise the sign drawing to indicate the ground - mounted fixture housing color; black or bronze fixtures would be appropriate. Regarding all ll proposed signage: 1. Zoning approval is required. Address all of the issues identified by Stewart Wright, Zoning Permit Planner (434- 296 -5832 ext 3024).
