Elizabeth,
Attached are my comments on the Hollymead Apartments plan — hopefully they will be of help to you when you review
it. JAUNT is new at this, so I'd be interested in your feedback. Thanks!

Dear Ms. Marotta,
Thank you for the opportunity to review SDP201000022, Hollymead Town Center Apartments -
Preliminary. JAUNT has the following comments related-to access to public transportation
within and around this site, especially for people with disabilities.
• Maximum inter - parcel connectivity is helpful for us to route vehicles efficiently. The
internal site connectivity is also helpful for JAUNT vehicles to avoid backing.
• Consider dedicating a bus -stop easement for CTS (or a future regional transit authority)
alongTowncenter Drive.
• Turning radii and roadway widths appear adequate for JAUNT vehicles. to navigate the
site (vehicles have approx. 31 -ft turning radius for inside rear wheel and 47 -ft radius for
outside front corner of the vehicle). Because there are not designated loading areas
near buildings, JAUNT vehicles might block some parking spaces while loading.
• Pedestrian Connectivity,to Transit and Amenities
o The site plan shows diagonal curb ramps at all intersections. It would be clearer
if the-final plan used directional ramps at intersections with only one possible
crossing direction.
o Where the site's new roads meet Towncenter Drive, it appears that the western
sidewalk on the western entrance and the eastern sidewalk on the eastern
entrance do not connect to the sidewalk on Towncenter Drive. The revised plan
should show these sidewalks as connected.
o Along the road leaving the site to the west, consider extending a continuous
sidewalk past the dumpster to the property line for future connectivity.

• We suggest showing a pedestrian - accessible- route that must be maintained
across drive entrances parallel to Towncenter Drive, with a 4 -ft minimum
traversable width of 2% max cross -slope (unless the accessible route is on the
other side of Towncenter. Drive).
• East of Building 5, the sidewalk ends at a dumpster. Consider extending the
sidewalk behind the dumpster and ramping down to cross near the HC parking
space at Building 5.
• Consider extending sidewalks between Buildings 2 and 3 and behind Buildings 1
and 4 to connect to sidewalks on Towncenter Drive. Stairs would be acceptable
on these walks if slopes are a concern.
o Please show an accessible connection from a sidewalk to the asphalt trail (or
note if the Tot Lot provides that connection).
We hope these comments can be considered in revising the plan. Please contact me with any
questions.
