Quick indicators:
The presence of minnows, crayfish, or flowing water during drought conditions will be an
automatic indicator of a perennial stream for this preliminary identification. A photo- record
or journal with a year's worth of data or more will also be accepted as an automatic indicator.

Total Score
5*
*The visit was abandoned once a total of 5 had been reached. A thick underbrush along the
stream prevented a full evaluation investigating soils, amphibians, groundwater seeps, etc.
A score of 5 or better will be a strong indicator of a perennial stream. In such cases a
detailed assessment should be conducted by a qualified professional. If this is not done,
the stream will be considered perennial.
